Hurricane Damage — Coastal NC

Hurricane roof damage — free inspection, full claim support.

Coastal NC is in the path of some of the strongest storms on the East Coast. After a hurricane or named storm, your roof needs a professional eye before the claim window closes — and before the next storm season arrives.

Free inspection. No obligation. Serving Wilmington and all of southeastern NC.

Why It's Different

Hurricane damage isn't just wind damage.

Named storms come with specific claim rules, separate deductibles, and documentation requirements that standard wind events don't. Getting it right from the start saves time and money.

Wind and rain hit at the same time

A hurricane doesn't give your roof a break between wind and water. High-speed wind lifts and cracks shingles while rain drives through every gap simultaneously — which is why hurricane damage tends to be more severe than either on its own.

Hurricane deductibles are different

Most NC policies carry a separate hurricane deductible — often a percentage of the insured value, not a flat dollar amount. That changes how claims are calculated. Understanding your policy before filing matters.

Named storms have claim deadlines

After a named storm, NC insurers track the storm date carefully. Claim filing windows can be shorter than standard property damage claims. The sooner you document the damage, the better your position.

What To Look For

Signs your roof took hurricane damage.

Some damage is obvious the morning after. A lot of it isn't — lifted tabs, cracked shingles, and broken seals don't announce themselves until the next rain.

  • Missing, torn, or displaced shingles after a named storm
  • Exposed roof deck or underlayment visible from the ground
  • Wind-driven rain intrusion at the ridge, vents, or soffits
  • Gutters pulled away from the fascia by storm debris
  • Chimney caps, vent covers, or satellite equipment dislodged
  • Interior water stains that appeared during or after the storm
  • Visible daylight through the attic
  • Siding panels torn, cracked, or missing alongside roof damage

After a named storm

Don't assume it held.

If a named storm came through your area, your roof likely has damage worth documenting — whether or not it's visible from the ground. A free inspection costs you nothing and tells you exactly where you stand before the claim window closes.

Our Process

Inspection to repair — no guesswork.

01

Post-storm inspection

We get on the roof as soon as it's safe. Every damaged area — shingles, flashing, ridge, soffits, gutters — is assessed and recorded before anything is touched.

02

Full documentation

Photos, notes, and measurements covering the full scope of damage. This becomes your claim package. The more thorough the documentation, the less room for the adjuster to minimize.

03

Adjuster meeting

We meet your insurance adjuster on-site, walk the damage with them, and make sure the approved scope covers what we found — not just what's easy to see.

04

Repair or full replacement

Once the claim is approved, we schedule the work. Hurricane damage often warrants full replacement — we'll tell you honestly which way it goes.

Most hurricane claims include hail, wind, and siding damage in the same inspection.
